11 months old!

We can't believe it...Caden is 11 months old! Time has flown by, but then it seems like he has been with us forever and we can't imagine our life without him.

Well 11 months old and we have finally graduated to the big boy bath tub (we could have probably a few months ago, but the blow up ducky is much easier to contain him in and stop him from grabbing onto the faucet)...Daddy decided to get in with me to help me wash...

I think Daddy forgot to wash my face, but I'm sure Mommy will get it!Also, now when Caden starts to hear the water running, he starts to army crawl his way towards the bathroom...

VICTORY!

While Daddy wasn't home the other day...Mommy had some fun with Caden's hair - it's getting pretty long, so I decided to put it in a pony tail...yes, I know that he is going to kill me one day. But, hey, my mom dressed my little brother up as a girl for Halloween one year, and it didn't scar him for life, so I think we'll be fine...

Here's a better view of the pony tail...

Since Mommy had the camera out, he decided to be a little ham posing...Then I started noticing that he was "scrunching" up his nose and closing his eyes in anticipation of the flash...he's so smart!

Now here's a few more pics...

Stuffing my face with the Gerber "Cheetos"...

"Yes, that's my car...when you take off the hood, there's a snack tray underneath so I can eat and walk..." Maybe Riley wants a "Cheeto"

Getting better at standing and can even stand with "no hands" for a second or two...

He's also sitting himself up from a crawling position these days too...

Now, here's one I just had to add because he looks mad...

Mini-vacation to Destin

Mommy has been working so hard during tax season that we decided to get away for a weekend and relax. So we packed our bags last minute and headed over to the Hilton in Sandestin. The hotel room was perfect for us. Here are some of the views from our balcony...

There was an alcove with bunk beds that Caden's pack'n'play fit perfectly in. There was no door, so I ducktaped a blanket to make a door so that he wouldn't see us right away when he woke up...you have to get clever with an almost 11 month old...
Notice the crib soother (Caden's light show) attached to the pack'n'play. Now we can't go anywhere without it. Caden knows to hit the bird to make the lights and the music start, so he does it every night before he goes to sleep and every morning when he wakes up! Hey, whatever works...
Now that he is army crawling ALL over the place (and he's getting faster every day!), we had to take a quilt for him to crawl around on...although he was always on the carpet if we turned our heads for a second.
Uncle Todd, Aunt Carly, Cousins Brody and Wade, and Grammy and Pops came over on Saturday to see us. The outdoor pool water was still a little chilly, but the indoor water was juuuuustttt riiiigghhhtttt...This was Caden's second time in a pool (1st was last 4th of July) and he didn't know what to make of it at first...

Once he got used to it, he started kicking all around and turning himself in circles in his "car" float. I guess he kicked so much that he wore himself out...

Grammy and Pops took Caden home with them on Saturday night to spend the night so that Scott and I could have a baby-free night and go out! Grammy and Pops said that he was so good for them. He even slept 12 hours! Thanks Grammy and Pops!
It was a perfect mini-vacation...2 1/2 hours from the house and a room big enough for the three of us (Riley could have fit too, but we would have had to sneak him in...).
And one last picture that I didn't post from St. Patrick's Day...Kiss me I'm cute!
Scott and I are loving every minute of being parents. Caden makes us laugh every day with his funny faces that he makes, his army crawl or as we like to call it "the worm",and now he clearly says "a - dah, a-dah" and repeats it when you start to say it. His little personality is definitely showing through more and more each day. He is a very good baby and hardly ever cries unless he is just frustrated that he can't do something or that the stroller has stopped moving!

Birthday party weekend!

Well...we had a busy weekend! We had two birthday parties on Saturday, so we were running from one end of town to the other! The first was Hunter Newell's at Chuckie Cheese. I was nervous about Chuckie Cheese, since Caden has never been there before, so I wasn't sure how he would react...but I forgot how tough he is and laid back...When Chuckie came out, some of the other kids and babies there started crying - not our Caden. He just looked at the mouse in amazement. He loved all of the lights and the music and then he was the only kid that could fall asleep in Chuckie Cheese. Once he starts walking, I know we'll be in trouble taking him there! Of course, I forgot my camera, so I only got one picture of him with my phone...he was loving taking everything he could off of the table, here he is with the paper plate and the paper cup...(not the best quality picture since it was with my phone...I could kick myself).

Then we were off to Bryant Bilotto's first birthday party at his grandparent's house. Here Caden is with Bryant...Bryant is walking all over the place, so maybe that's what encouraged Caden to start crawling...

Here is the birthday boy with his cake!

And then Caden tried to eat our friend Shawn (Tiny)'s hat...I can't see that it would taste good though...

I am busy planning Caden's first birthday party - I can't believe that he is going to be a 1 year old next month. Time has sure flown by!

Now, here's a cute picture of him in his big boy baseball jammies...

Some other things that Caden is doing now: Saying "dadadadadada" pretty clearly now, pulling himself up to get on his knees, loves to bang on every surface including the coffee table, the hardwood floors, anything that will make noise, loves to stand and hold on to the coffee table when we put him there, and making his "fishy face"...

Caden "driving"

Crawling!...well sort of...

Beautiful Weekend in Tallahassee

I worked a lot this weekend, but I got most of it done on Friday night and Saturday morning, so that we could play hard outside the rest of the day on Saturday. Our friends, the Garbers had a party at their house and they have such a good party yard. Uncle Todd, Aunt Carly, and cousins Brody and Wade also came over for the party, too! Daddy was in Orlando, so he missed out on all of the fun...Here are some pictures from this weekend...Sitting like a big boy at Cole's table! And yes, that is a beer in mommy's hand...

Playing in the beautiful weather with my cousins, Brody and Wade...

Here's Brody...

Here's Wade...Here's Caden with Aunt Carly...

"I'm too sexy for my hair"...and yes, I am STILL waiting until he is 1 years old to give him a haircut...I love his crazy hair!I love it when my hair blows in the wind...what will I do when it is finally cut?!?!We had a great time at the Garbers! Thanks Garbers for having us! Brian Garber was keeping track of how many kids were there throughout the day...and I think that we hit 17 at one point! My how things have changed from a few years ago...Here are some of the others who were there...Cole Garber...

Crew Carlile...Joshua Hickey...And even Miss Bailey Gardner came by at a whopping 4 days old...

Rest in Peace Little Ruger

Ruger lived a good life. He was born on August 20, 1997 and died March 3, 2009. He was a great dog. He loved to lick everyone and everything as his way of saying "hello". He wasn't the typical rottweiler, as his best friend was a pomeranian. He was gentle and loving, but fiercely protected our house...

Ruger you will be sadly missed. Your battle with cancer was short, but we are all glad that you are now resting in peace and not in pain anymore...We continue to miss your sweet face and still look behind us as we are walking around expecting you to be there...

We Love you, Scott, Allie, Caden, and Riley
