Random bits...

Some other random bits of our life...

We took Caden to the Tallahassee Museum (we call it the zoo) to see the animals. He kept telling us all day "Mommy/Daddy, I see animals!"

Much to daddy's dismay, he really liked the snakes (daddy HATES snakes).

Caden has been wanting to pick out his own clothes and even takes his shirt off if it's not the one he wants to wear. And then sometimes his outfits are full of imagination...

We started swimming lessons with Miss Erin! And let me tell you, I am truly amazed at what Miss Erin gets him to do. He goes under water and kicks his feet to get to the wall. He floats on his back while they sing "one, two buckle my shoe...". She taught him how to splash with his toes (kick across the pool) and he even jumped in the deep end last lesson!

And then lastly, we have some big news on the potty training adventure!

From droid pictures

Hey, it only happened once, but it gave me hope that I wouldn't be sending him to kindergarten in diapers. I was so excited that I gave him a handful of M & Ms, which has now backfired on me. Now, he gets up out of his bed and tells me he needs to poop and just sits on the toilet and expects M & Ms...ahhh, one day, we'll be there!

Charleston, SC

We took a quick trip up to Charleston to see Uncle Ryan and Aunt AJ. Caden picked out different movies for the trip and the whole way kept telling us "I love movies!". It was too cute.

We took Caden down to the Battery so he could run and get some energy out!

He liked to look out at the water at all of the ships (there was a cruise ship docked) and we showed him Fort Sumpter.

Then we headed over to the College of Charleston baseball game (where Uncle Ryan used to play) and Caden was running the bases at the practice field...

We'll come back soon!

Mother's Day

Mother's day was perfect. My two best boys made me dinner and dessert! Scott grilled steaks and fried some scallops and my sweet Caden made mommy a cake at school. It's too cute. Publix comes to his school and they all get to decorate cakes for mother's day. I forgot to take a picture before we had a piece...he was very excited to eat his cake and kept telling me all day "Mommy I going to eat my cake", so he was a little impatient.

Isn't it pretty? :)

Somebody sure enjoyed it!

From 2011_05_08

He also made a present for me that required me to bring a picture of him and I to school...well, I couldn't find one...I always seem to be behind the camera, so I had Daddy take one and it is one of the best pictures we've ever taken!

Caden's 3rd Birthday!

I can't believe my baby boy is three years old...I still remember it like yesterday when I was pregnant and now we have this walking, talking, amazing little sweet boy.

About Caden at three years old: loves to gives kisses all the time (your leg, your cheek, your stomach, whatever he can get to), he loves to give kisses to sweeten you up to get his way, when he gets excited he skips or hops, lines up his cars only to mess them up or put them all in a big truck, loves all kind of trucks especially monster trucks, will only pee on the potty for things like stickers or candy, runs to the door everyday when I get home and gives me a big hug and yells "mommy"! I could go on and on with all of the cute things he does.

Lately, he loves to tell us his colors, count for everyone, and asks questions...why, mommy, who's that, what's that? I could just eat him up!

Then the not so cute things...the whiney voice, and the full out temper tantrums where he lays flat on the floor wherever we are (really wherever we are whether that be at a restaurant, on a sidewalk or at home).

Happy Birthday sweet boy!

On his actual birthday, we asked him what he wanted to eat for his birthday dinner...he said chicken, so birthday dinner at Beef O'Brady's it is!

Then we he got home he had a homemade cupcake with a big 3 candle (note that I have baked cookies and cupcakes for his class two weeks in a row - just call me Martha :))...

The next morning, I treated it more like Christmas. I just thought it would be neat for him to wake up and find all of his presents by the fireplace. He woke up that morning and was in the kitchen trying to get himself some milk (trying being the key word) and spotted the presents!

We had Caden's party at Fun Station, Jr. because he loves to "jump on the bounceys".

I think he had a great time.

All in all, I think he had a great birthday.

Okay, so at least I'm only running a week behind in blog posts. Maybe I'll be able to get a quick one done this week about mother's day and then we are headed to Charleston this weekend to see Uncle Ryan and Aunt AJ!

Easter Weekend and Mommy's birthday

On the Thursday before Easter, Caden's class had an Easter egg hunt. I just had to go see if Caden really got the concept or not. Well, he got it alright...His teacher told all of the class that there were 4 eggs for each student - not a concept that a bunch of 3 year olds understand. Caden thought the object was to get as many as he can, but hey, who could blame him?

On your mark, get set, go!!!

We spent Good Friday hanging out together since we both had the day off...we did fun things like go to costco with our friends Carolyn and Anniston! (taken with my phone...so not as good of a picture)

Then, we got a babysitter and went to our favorite local Mexican restaurant...and much to my suprise, Scott threw me a surprise birthday party! Complete with a cookie cake...

From droid pictures

Then we headed out the next morning to Panama City Beach to see Scott's family and so that I could get my birthday wish (3 hours of peace and quiet at the Destin outlet mall...ahhhhh)

Caden insisted that Riley ride in his lap.

We got up Easter morning and the Easter Bunny left Caden, Brody, and Wade some eggs in Grammy and Pops side yard!

Then we went inside to see what the Easter Bunny had left them!

The Easter Bunny left some footprints, too!

And waaaayyy too much candy :).

We also hung out in the dog crate...

From 2011_04_23

I'm not sure what it is about the dog crate, but they all love it.

Then the clever little boogers figured out they could stand on one of the trucks to see into Grammy's fish tank (Brody is on the other side of Caden)

And as a side note...my birthday will never be on Easter again in my lifetime...the next time will be 2095, but I sure enjoyed this Easter/Birthday.
