Ensley Anne has arrived!

Ensley Anne Harrell arrived on Mother's Day, May 13, 2012 at 12:56 P.M. at 8 lbs 14 oz., 22 1/2 inches long, and a head full of dark hair. Yes, you read that right, she was one big and long baby! We were all surprised about that considering the midwife just told Mommy on Thursday that she was estimating a 7-7.5 lb baby! Mommy started going into labor about 5 am Sunday morning. I timed the contractions for about an hour and a half before I woke Daddy up. I told him that I think we are going to have a baby today! We quickly gathered our stuff, called our friend, Tara, to come watch Caden and headed to the hospital. A funny side story is that Daddy didn't have any gas, so we had to stop and get gas on the way :).

Here are some quick pictures of our sweet little girl. We have been home for a day and big brother is still adjusting to not being the only one, but so far so good.

Here she is at two days old - the day we were discharged from the hospital. She was down to 8 lbs 5 oz. when we were discharged.

Ready to go for her ride home in her carseat.

And here she is the morning after her first night home. First night was not so bad. Daddy bought her this fancy swaddle blanket and we probably need to read the directions since I don't think Mommy put it on very good :).

Big brother loves to kiss and hold her. He is so proud. She is the fifth grandchild on both sides. 1st girl on the Harrell side and 2nd girl on the Johnson side. More pictures to come of her first few days of life, but wanted to give a quick post for those that couldn't be near us to meet her.

38 weeks with Ensley

Caden kisses my belly every morning and then puts his ear to it and says he can hear her.  I always ask what is she saying and he says that she is growing bigger, bigger before she comes out!

Here I am at 38 weeks pregnant with Ensley Anne...

And now as I write this at almost 39 weeks pregnant, Caden has his first bout with strep throat and I more than likely do. Perfect timing. I was hoping that she was going to make her grand entrance last week, but I'm thinking God had other plans, so maybe she will wait a few days for us to be on the antibiotics and then come. We can't wait to meet you!

Happy 4th Birthday, Caden Michael! With lots of pictures!

We cannot believe that our little boy is 4 years old now!  What a blessing he has been in our lives. He has been through a lot in his 4 short years of life - 3 very long hospital stays for one. We are so very thankful for him every day. Also, some quick stats at 4 years old, he is wearing size 5 clothes, weighs in at 46 lbs and is about 44 inches tall.

Grammie came over a day early to hang out with us and brought PRESENTS. Caden loves presents. Look at the expressions on his face when he is opening them...

Then, what does every 4 year old need for their birthday??? A pony party! I had heard about this great farm called The Painted Pony. They had all kinds of animals and then actually let the kids paint the pony!

First up, pony rides! Here are our friends Sarah, Brendan, Ethan, and cousin Wade riding the ponies!

We had three ponies and the birthday boy got to ride all 3!

There were swings and a dirt pit/sand pile for the kids to play in.

They had baby goats, chickens, ducks, pigs, donkeys, cows, oh my!

Then, we got to paint Charlie the horse! This animal amazingly just stood there calmly while all of the kids put their handprints on him.

Then, onto the hayride. Daddy went...mommy did not. Didn't need all that jostling around...we were glad that Ensley decided not to share her brother's birthday.

He insisted on holding some of his presents. Good times were had by all! Great memories for our little boy. We love you Caden and hope you enjoyed your pony party!

It's Beach Time

Daddy went to a conference in Atlanta and Caden kept telling me that he wanted to go to the beach and build sandcastles...not sure where he got this idea from, but since it was my last weekend to travel with my ob's approval, we packed up and headed to Grammie and Pops. He keeps telling us what time it is (i.e., it's dinner time, it's bath time, it's wake up time, it's sleeping time, so hence the title of the post. He is always asking us what time it is...

I was actually quite impressed with myself - at 8 months pregnant, I packed me, Caden, and both dogs and left the house by 9 am. Funny, that Grammie and Pops live so close to the beach, but we never go to the beach when we are there. They have a great pool, so we usually end up there. And for those of you who know me well, know that I'm not much of a beach person either...the sand just gets everywhere! Yes, I know I grew up on the beach...

So, Grammie, Pops, Caden, and I packed up Pops' jeep and headed to the beach. As soon as Caden's feet hit the sand, he looked at me and said "It's amazing!"...guess we need to take him to the beach more often.

Grammie and Mommy discovered that we were not the greatest when it came to sand castle building, so Pops took over.

After the beach, we headed over to the marina to see all of the boats and the catch the fishermen brought back in. Here's Caden and Pops watching them clean the fish.
