Let the sun shine!

We went over to Grammie and Pops' house for memorial day weekend and it rained and rained and rained...Then finally the sun came out on Monday (of course the day we had to leave to come home). So, Caden and I ventured into the pool. It was pretty cold because of all of the rain, but somebody didn't seem to mind...

He could have stayed in there all day I think...

Saturday, we had to babyproof Grammie and Pops' house...Scott and I went and bought some gates to keep Caden contained! I don't think Grammie and Pops knew how much trouble Caden can get himself into...

Here he is pulled up on the wall looking at Grammie's saltwater fish tank...There are a couple of brightly colored fish that he just follows with his eyes wherever they go. I thought this picture was cool though because he had just pushed himself off of the wall to stand on his own. He stands for a while now, but just won't take that first step!

Here he is in Grammie's rocking chair from when she was a little girl...He wasn't all that excited about it, but maybe in a few years when he knows how to rock himself...

All ready to go outside in the rain! (He promptly pulled the hat off after this picture...)

On Sunday, we went over to Aunt Carly and Uncle Todd's house in Shalimar...how hard is it to get three babies to look at the camera at the same time!

Caden trying to get to Buckley outside...He's looking at me like "Mom, why can't I get this thing open and get to that dog! Maybe he'll let me pull his tail!"...

Caden also got quite a bit of table food this weekend...the first time tasting ice cream...he made a terrible face, but then opened his mouth for more...the first time tasting saltines - he loved them...and sweet potato fries...pretty soon, we'll be completely off of baby food...however, baby food is soooo easy for mommy...
Caden has not been consistently taking his two naps a day and refused to take one in the car on the way to Aunt Carly and Uncle Todd's. So, he took almost a three hour afternoon nap. While he was napping, we put Brody and Wade in their baby pool. Aunt Carly is brave and puts them in there with no diaper...haha, wait until one poops in the pool (sometimes I'd like to put a swimmie diaper on Caden in the tub to prevent an accident from happening - he's pooped in the tub 3 times now...)

Brody...
Wade...

And then not to be forgotten, Riley was along for all of these rides this weekend. He got pretty comfy on all of the couches...

Not much to report here...

Except that our crazy baby is all over the place and is fast!!! He is crawling in between furniture...

Then getting mad when he gets stuck...

He is pulling up on everything that he possibly can...he has soooo many toys in the living room, but all he wants to do is walk along the coffee table, the couch, the end table, the rocking chair...you get the picture...And here he is playing with one of his FAVORITE toys...no not anything that he got for his birthday, but the coasters...He loves them! He loves to carry them around, put them on the coffee table and beat them on the wood...I'm not sure what the fascination is, but now we never have a coaster to put our drinks down on...

He's very fast, too, he's in the living room one minute and the next thing we know, we turn around and he is up on the dishwasher doing things he shouldn't like opening drawers...So funny though, that in between all of his walking and crawling, he will pull up on the couch and put his head to rest....awwww, so cute (this only lasts a second, I was actually pretty lucky to get a picture of it...thanks to my awesome camera that can take 3 pictures per second!)

A rare moment of the tired boy...

He is obsessed with Riley still. Since Caden is crawling all over the place, Riley has to make a choice to stay in the bedroom or out in the living room with us. He usually stays in the bedroom, but when he is out, he has really started to play with Caden. He's the perfect size for a one year old...All of the doors are usually shut, but as soon as he hears one open, he takes off as fast as he can and is in the room before we know it...He also now has a game that he likes to play with us before and after bath time - Catch Me if You Can! He's a big fan of it...Mommy and Daddy are not so much when we are trying to get his diaper and pajamas on him after a bath ;)

Caden was sooo sweet and sent a dozen roses to mommy at her office. They were beautiful pink, purple, and fuschia roses...Here's some pics...(I was perfecting my photography skills)

And here's a little fun story...one day, mommy left for work before Caden got up, so it was up to Daddy to dress him, feed him, and get him to daycare...This is what he ended up wearing to daycare...It may not look that bad from the picture, but let me give you a better description...athletic looking onesie that's gray and navy that has "Daddy's MVP" on the front with light blue and white seer sucker pants...It was so funny that I had to take a picture...even Daddy said he knew something wasn't right with the outfit when he put it on him...

And I know that some of you are thinking, geez that baby looks big for his age, but that's because he is!!! At his one year appointment, he was weighing in at 27 lbs 5 oz. (95th percentile) and 32 inches tall (the 96th percentile)!!

Caden's first birthday with lots of pictures!

We had Caden's first birthday party at a park on Saturday...it was a baseball birthday party! We had a good turn out and had a lot of fun...(side note-we discovered about 30 minutes before the party began, that there were no bathrooms there...not a good idea) Here are some pics from the party...

Hanging with Pops and cousin Brody!

Visiting with Great Grandmother...she came all the way from Maclenney with Great Aunt Marilyn and Great Uncle Andy just for the party...(Aunt Carly, Uncle Todd, Brody, and Wade, and Grammy and Pops also came over for the day, too - Mi-mi spent Friday night with us and got to spend some time with Caden Friday evening before all of the party craziness began!)

We had his party at this park because it has the baby swings and as you can see, they were definitely a hit! Caden laying back...

That's better...

Cousin Brody was loving it!

Brooke Rudd...

Everybody was out swinging...

The men supervising the swinging...

And here is Caden's birthday cake (pre-smashing). The lady that made Scott and I's wedding cake made it and it was unbelievable! It tasted just as good as it looked! Everything was made out of sugar including the baseball, glove, bat, and even the number 1! I think she might be making all of our cakes from now on...

Here is Caden's smash cake...

Singing happy birthday! He was looking at us like "Why are all these people staring at me and singing?!?"

He wasn't quite sure what to make of it...
Here, Mommy and Daddy will help...

Finally discovering it a little...

Then discovering that it tastes pretty good...
Then maybe I should get both hands in the icing and in my mouth...

How could anyone not think this is a cute face??

With Daddy and Uncle Todd and our party hats on!

Then the rarely seen on the blog Mommy (since she takes most of the pictures) in a quick family photo with the birthday boy!

Some other friends that came to share the day...Aydan Milgrom, Taylor and Kim Koegel...

Little Louie...

Nate Newell and Gavin Rudd...

After the party, climbing all over his loot at the house...I think he didn't like the fact that we had to get rid of the boxes...

He got a Little Tikes car from Mi-mi for his birthday and I put it together yesterday. We put him in it and Scott and I could not stop laughing at him...He just sat there and would laugh and act like he was driving somewhere...he stayed in there for probably 15 minutes! I took some really cute pictures and had to post a few (I couldn't decide on one since they were too cute!)
