Caden's first set of wheels

We got Caden his first car today! Well, okay, it's a walker that looks like a car, but it is soooo cute. It has a horn, side mirrors, shiny wheels and even pedals that make car noises! We picked him up at daycare last week and he was in this seat that they have there that has wheels and walks around this round table thing...okay, well I'm not describing it well, but we figured that he would enjoy a walker...The only ones that are mad about the walker are the dogs! He can now chase them...He is mostly walking sideways and backwards, but has gotten on a roll down the hallway a time or two already!

The mother of all stomach viruses

Well, this past weekend, we suffered through the mother of all stomach viruses as I would like to call it. Scott and Caden woke up with it on Friday, I had to take Scott to urgent care on Friday to get a shot to make him stop vomiting...I woke up with it on Saturday, and my little brother, who came to visit us with his girlfriend, AJ, woke up with it on Sunday! AJ was the only one in the house not to get it...thankfully she works at a hospital and must be immune to more viruses than we are. It was absolutely terrible and I don't wish it upon anyone!!! Especially a baby who can't tell you if something hurts or why he woke up in the middle of the night (nausea) or when he thinks he might throw up (after he woke up)....aaaaaahhhhhh. My sister-in-law, Carly, who has twins, put up figures on her blog about how much laundry, formula, etc. that they had been through...I figured out that the stomach virus caused me to do at least 20 loads of laundry in one weekend! Yuck

Other than that, not much else to report on here. His two teeth continue to come on through and his hair continues to grow and get crazier every day! Uncle Ryan called it the "Alabama Frat Boy" do. I love it and we're not cutting it until he's one...

Even though the virus ruined Ryan and AJ's visit, at least Caden finally got to meet them! Here's some pictures of them with Caden from this past weekend...

And then another cute picture of Caden in his winter coat! It's been so cold here that he has worn it almost every day...at least we are getting our money's worth out of it!

Headed towards 9 months...

Caden is 8 1/2 months old and boy is he ever busy. He is sitting up like a pro and is starting to get up on all fours and arch his back, so we're hoping crawling might be soon??? He pivots himself on his stomach for now and then rolls over if he wants to get to a toy.

He's so funny now and cracks himself up. He knocked a cup off of the coffee table the other day and laughed out loud...it was soo cute. Other things that he is doing is figuring out how to make some of his toys make noise...(he's so smart :))...and grabbing toys and shaking them because he knows that's how to get them to rattle. He is still into Baby Einstein and we have expanded our collection. He has gotten to where he will only watch a video 2 or 3 times before he wants a new one put in.

We're eating fruits, all of the stage 1 vegetables, and puffs. He's getting to be such a big boy!

Now, what everyone really wants...pictures...
Caden and mommy went down to see Nana, Aunt Jen, Uncle Albert, and cousins Kaley and Andrew the weekend after New Year's. Kaley is all about helping out with Caden so here are a few pics of her "helping" feed and bathe him. She wanted to stay at Nana's house every night that Caden did so she didn't have to spend much time without him...She loves her baby cousin Caden!

He had to get a new bathtub (our third one), because he pushed his feet into the middle of the hump in the old one and projected himself into the faucet.

This was too cute, so I had to take a picture of him sleeping with his butt up in the air...
He has definitely outgrown the bouncey seat, so he sits in his bumbo while Mommy and Daddy get ready for work in the morning...
Here's Daddy trying to get Caden to crawl...

Still in the same spot...

And then he just gave up...

Then Ruger came over to give a few licks...and as you can see in the second picture, Caden just loves it! Gross!

Tooth #2

Just to let everyone know tooth #2 finally broke through this weekend. It was forever hanging out at the edge of his gums and now has broken through, which has also resulted in better sleeping now. YAY, Caden for getting two teeth in two weeks!
