Trip down South

We headed to Port St. Lucie for labor day weekend to see my family. We spent most of the weekend at the baseball field watching cousin Drew play baseball...

Here's some pictures from the weekend.

Soccer

Well, we decided to experiment and signed Caden up for his first organized sport...Soccer. Soccer is a strong word for it - I like to call it herding cats. The first game was a struggle. I don't think Caden liked all of people cheering and yelling, so it took about 20 minutes to convince him to go out onto the field. Once he got out there, he was fine. He even played goalie for a few minutes. All in all, it's pretty cute and when he is out on the field, he enjoys it. He always looks on the sideline when he is running down the field to make sure that we are watching. He tells us that he "played soccer ball"!

Here are some pictures..

Ready for the first game!

Miscellaneous and Medical Update

We took a quick trip with the Milgroms one Saturday to the Florida Museum...

Most of it made me nervous because I thought Caden was going to break some priceless artifact, so not a lot of pictures, but I managed to get at least one of him on the old steamboat.

And an update on all of our medical visits...we have been to Shands twice now to see the pediatric pulmonologist. Not much to report except that they have performed quite a few tests to try to see why our little guy gets pneumonia so easily. We had a sleep study performed...excuse the picture quality, it was taken with Scott's phone.

No definitive results really from the sleep study except that he does not have sleep apnea, which if he did, could contribute to all of his pneumonia.

Then we had a bronchoscopy. Here'a picture after he was getting out of anesthesia.

The doctors said that they did not see anything abnormal, but did take a culture from his lungs, which we haven't gotten back yet.

So, for now, we do two breathing treatments a day everyday to hopefully keep our little guy from getting more pneumonia.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Daddy went to Gainesville for his birthday to some Gator football recruiting event...hey, that's what he wanted, so Happy Birthday, honey!

Well, while he was gone, Caden and I got busy and made him a birthday cake! Caden's favorite part was licking the spoons and beaters...

The finished product...hey, we tried. I think I need to go to some kind of cake decorating class in my spare time...ha, spare time, who has any of that anymore.

Viva Las Vegas

Scott and I headed to Las Vegas with Jen and Albert (my sister and brother-in-law) and my cousin, Mary Jane, and her husband, Page...part in celebration of Albert's big 4-0 birthday and our 5 year anniversary! This was Jen and I's first time in Las Vegas, so we wanted to see everything! And thanks so much to Grammy and Pops for keeping Caden for us!!!

Here's a few pictures from our trip.

The neglectful blogger has returned...

I think that might be the title of my blog post once a year...and I would bet that it would be around the same time. This is my busiest time of year at work, so unfortunately the blog has taken a back seat...but not our activities!

Right after the 4th of July, we headed over to see Grammy and Pops and our cousins Brody and Wade were there with Uncle Todd. So, we got some cousin swim time in.

Swim lessons ended in late July, but I think we made some progress and will definitely sign up again with Miss Erin next summer!

We had some tired boys on our hands...and they wanted to take a nap together. How sweet...all in their sleeping bags.

Happy Fourth of July!

This is the first fourth of July in my recent memory that we didn't travel anywhere...we missed our families but had fun. We spent time at the Milgroms house in their pool. Caden had so much fun with the girls and was getting very brave in the pool. He wanted to be thrown in...yes, I said thrown in. He had his floaties on, but he would pop right up and kick to the side. I was doing a lot of the throwing so no pictures of that (maybe I need to have Scott start taking some pictures :)), but here is a few jumping pictures.

After dragging all of the kids out of the pool, we went to see some fireworks!! Caden was sitting in my lap and once they started, he looked at me and said "I want my dad"...I guess mommy wasn't enough protection for him LOL.
