Happy Fourth of July!

This is the first fourth of July in my recent memory that we didn't travel anywhere...we missed our families but had fun. We spent time at the Milgroms house in their pool. Caden had so much fun with the girls and was getting very brave in the pool. He wanted to be thrown in...yes, I said thrown in. He had his floaties on, but he would pop right up and kick to the side. I was doing a lot of the throwing so no pictures of that (maybe I need to have Scott start taking some pictures :)), but here is a few jumping pictures.

Sad face because he had to get out of the pool after being in for 5 hours...yes, that's right 5 hours!! He was so pruny, but loving every minute of it.

After dragging all of the kids out of the pool, we went to see some fireworks!! Caden was sitting in my lap and once they started, he looked at me and said "I want my dad"...I guess mommy wasn't enough protection for him LOL.

Play Date

We had a great playdate at the Carlile crib with the Carliles, Rudds, and Adeline. The Carliles have this great water slide. The adults tried to stay cool under the covered porch with industrial size fans while the kiddos played.

Thanks Carliles! Can't wait to do it again!

Happy Father's Day

Father's day is always a bitter sweet holiday for me. I miss my dad dearly...but I am so glad that I get to see what a great father Scott has become to Caden. One of the things I was shocked over when I went through my dad's things was that he kept every card I (and my three siblings) ever gave him. So, I definitely made Scott keep this one. Caden said he drew "snakes" on daddy's card. He even asked for it back before we gave it to Scott so he could draw more snakes. Love him. Maybe he'll be an artist :).

He even made daddy a "super" daddy cookie cake at school.

Spending some quality time with daddy.

He wanted to sit on his bean bag, but also wanted to sit next to Daddy on the couch.

For Father's day, Scott wanted to take Caden to his first movie. So, we took him to see Mr. Popper's Penguins. We had a little trouble trying to get him into the theatre after he saw the video games...

When we finally got him in there, he loved it! He had snacks and Sprite and made it through the whole thing!

Then, we drove down to Crawfordville to take some friends that have twin boy newborns some dinner and decided to have dinner at the coast. Caden likes to sit outside and watch the seagulls and the cars drive over the bridge.

Caden made sure that his seat was closest to the water...

What a wonderful father's day!

Memorial Day Weekend

I know, I know...the neglectful blogger has returned. We have been thoroughly enjoying our summer so far and trying to make the best of the hundred degree heat.

On Memorial Day weekend, we drove over to Panama City and Shalimar to see our new baby cousin/nephew, Jack.

We got to play with Brody and Wade's toys. It always amazes me at playdates or other places the excitement Caden has for playing with other people's toys. New stuff!

Then we had a slumber party with Brody and Wade at Grammy and Pops' house...

I have no idea what they are staring at, but they are intense!

From 2011_05_28

We took our turns playing baseball...(there was a lot of saying "it's not your turn" by the adults to the three year old and the two almost three year olds)

The next day, we took them to Zooworld. Zoo world is great for little kids. Not a whole lot of walking and you get to see most of the animals up close! Complete with a petting zoo with a giraffe!

Then after some looooong naps, we were at it again. This time everyone jumping on the big beanbag (which is really cool and makes into a queen size bed).

The only thing that made them calm down was Diego.

Then after Brody and Wade headed home...Daddy and Caden took a walk on the dock to feed the fish the leftover pony/giraffe food.
